For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Deckert 10.4.1959 Westdeutscher Flieger landete bei Naumburg.

Recht erstaunt waren die Einwohner des Ortsteiles Schellsitz der Kreisstadt Naumburg an der Saale, als ein Sportflugzeug in unmittelbarer Nähe des Dorfes landete. Ein Westdeutscher war mit dieser geliehenen Maschine am 7.4.1959 in Hannover gestartet und landete mit wenigen Tropfen Benzin im Tank in der DDR. Der Pilot kehrte bereits am Abend des 8. April nach Westdeutschland zurück.
