For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Biscan Frö-Mea 2.6.1959 Ausrüstungen für die chemische Großindustrie werden exportiert Im Behälterbau des volkseigenen Schwermaschinenbaues "Georgij Dimitroff" in Magdeburg werden Rektifizierkolonnen für den Export in die Sowjetunion und nach Polen hergestellt. Es handelt sich um zylinderförmige Stahlbehälter, die in der Sowjetunion zum Trennen von Stoffgemischen benötigt werden. Die zuletzt gebaute Rektifizierkolonne gehört dem bisher größten Typ an: sie ist 35 Meter hoch, hat 2 Meter Durchmesser und wiegt 105.000 Kilogramm. UBz: Der Stahlriese wird zum Verladeplatz dirigiert.
