For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, „Alter Markt“, Neubau Zentralbild Repro 4.9.1959 Wiederaufbau der Stadt Dresden. UBz: Altmarkt Westseite. An dieser Stelle wurde 1952 mit dem Aufbau des Zentrums begonnen. Die Gebäude enthalten 2-geschossige Läden, darüber Wohnungen. In dem vorderen vorgezogenen Bauteil befindet sich das „Cafe Prag“. Abschluß der Gebäudegruppe durch das HO-Warenhaus (Hintergrund).
