Meißen, Burgberg, Burg, Dom, Nacht Zentralbild Alfred Schmidt 12.6.1960 Geläut des Meissner Domes eingeweiht In einem Festgottesdienst ist am 11.6. durche den Landesbischof der evangelischen-lutherischen Landeskirche Sachsen, D. Noth, das Geläut des im Jahre 1180 gebauten Meissner Domes neu eingeweiht worden. Für das neue Geläut des Domes hatte die traditionsreiche Apoldaer Glockengiesserei Schilling und Söhne drei neue Glocken gegossen. Sie haben ein Gewicht von über sieben Tonnen. Ein Teil der Glocken war im vergangenen Weltkrieg von den Faschisten für Kriegszwecke eingeschmolzen worden. Sie liessen diesem bekannten Dom nur eine Glocke übrig, während eine weitere nach 1945 auf dem bekannten Hamburger Glockenfriedhof aufgefunden und nach Meissen zurückgebracht werden konnte. Nach dem Festgottesdienst erklang das neue Geläut des uralten Domes zum ersten Male wieder weithin über das Land. UBz: Blick auf den Burgberg mit den festlich angestrahlten Domtürmen.
