Zentralbild Werdorf 8.4.1962 XV. Internationale Friedensfahrt 1962 Berlin - Prag - Warschau

In wenigen Wochen steht Berlin ganz im Zeichen der XV. Internationalen Friedensfahrt 1962. Zum zweiten Mal werden die Fahrer des Friedens das größte Amateur-Straßenrennen der Welt in der Hauptstadt der DDR aufnehmen. Der Alexanderplatz und die Karl-Marx-Allee sowie alle anderen Straßen werden ein festliches Gewand anlegen und Zehntausende von Zuschauern werden den Rennfahrern zujubeln.

UBz: Am 2. Mai wird die erste Etappe "Rund um Berlin" gestartet. Die Fahrer werden aus Richtung Rathausstraße kommend über den Alexanderplatz (oben) "brausen" und wenige Sekunden später an den neuen Häusern in der Karl-Marx-Allee (unten) vorbeifahren.
