For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Eckstedt, Reparatur eines Mähdreschers Zentralbild Köhne-Heilig We-ga. 26.8.62 Vorbildlichste Mähdrescherbesatzung des Bezirkes Erfurt Die Mähdrescherbesatzung Siefried Nitz von der Außenstelle Markvippach der MTS Eckstedt, Kreis Weimar und Otto Kostenblatt, Genosenschaftsbauer der LPG "Am Warthügel" hat bis zum 24.8.62 119 ha gemäht und 3 724 dtz ausgedroschen. Für ihre hervorragenden Leistungen wurden die beiden Kollegen vom Rat des Bezirkes und vom Rat des Kreises mit Prämien ausgeszeichnet. Der MTS Bereich Eckstedt hat bis jetzt 81, 7 Prozent gemäht und nacht über 50 Prozent Schälfurche gezogen. (Stand vom 24.8.62) UBz: Otto Kostenblatt (links) und Siegfreid Nitz nutzen die Zeit nach einem Regenguß zur Reparatur ihres Mähdreschers.
