For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Trabrennbahn, Übersicht Zentralbild Sturm 8.11.1962 Co. Auf der Trabrennbahn in Berlin-Karlshorst-An 92 Tagen im Jahr werden in Karlshorst Rennen ausgetragen. Die Trabrennbahn Berlin-Karlshorst mit ihrer Länge von 1600 m und ihrer Gesamtfläche einschließlich aller Stallungen von 80 ha ist die einzige ihrer Art in der DDR. Auf den anderen Rennbahnen werden Galopprennen ausgetragen. 1897 wurde das erste Rennen in Karlshorst gelaufen auf der damaligen Hindernisbahn. Das erste Rennen nach dem 2.Weltkrieg fand am 1.Juli 1945 statt, und seit dieser Zeit besteht die Trabrennbahn. UBz: Renntag in Berlin-Karlshorst. Für gute Stimmung in den Pausen sorgt eine Kapelle der Nationalen Volksarmee der DDR..
