For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Ölkai, Tanker Zentralbild Karnitzki 10.12.1963 Erdöl aus der Sowjetunion im Rostocker Ölhafen Sowjetisches Erdöl löschen der schwedische Tanker "Kinn" und der italienische Tanker "Andrea Costa" am Ölkai des neuerbaute Rostocker Überseehafens. Seit Jahresbeginn wurden hier rund 1,3 Millionen Tonnen Erdöl umgeschlagen - überwiegend aus der Sowjetunion und aus den arabischen Staaten. Das Öl wird zum Teil in große Lagertanks aufgeommen, zum Teil direkt vom Tanker in die bereitstehenden Kesselwagen gepumpt und in die verarbeitende Industrie transportiert. UBz: Der italienische Tanker "Andrea Costa" (im Vordergrund) und der schwedische Tanker "Kinn" löschen sowjetisches Erdöl am Ölkai.
