Zentralbild Kohls 15.9.1964 15. Jahrestag der DDR Die Sport- und Kongresshalle in Schwerin In ihrer architektonischen Gestaltung zählt die Halle zu den modernsten der DDR. Das Aluminiumdach umfasst 5600 m². Vier Pfeiler und zwei Querträger zu je 80 t tragen die Halle. Das Gesamtgewicht der Stahlkonstruktion mit seiner Verglasung beträgt 500 t. bei bühnen- und Boxveranstaltungen finden 8000 Zuschauer Platz. bei anderen Sportveranstaltungen wie Hallenhandball oder Leichtathletik sind es 6000 Plätze. die letzten sportlichen Höhepunkte erlebte dieser hochmoderne Bau bei den Olympia-Ausscheidungskämpfen im Boxen und Turnen (Frauen). |
