For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Frankfurt/Oder, Friedensbrücke Zentralbild Krisch trc-Schü 17.9.1964 Seit Gründung der DDR wurden in Frankfurt-Oder rund 5000 neue Wohnungen errichtet. Die Stadt war im 2. Weltkrieg zu mehr als zwei Drittel zerstört worden. Heute blickt man auf die großzügig im modernen Stil wiederentstandene Altstadt (unser Foto zeigt einen Blick vom neuen Hochhaus auf die Friedensbrücke) an der Oder.
