For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Lehrschiff, Nacht Zentralbild Lehmann ku-ne 28.12.1966 Im Rostocker Überseehafen wurde die Sechs-Millionen-Tonnen-Grenze überschritten und damit ein neuer Jahresrekord in der sechsjährigen Geschichte dieses größten DDR-Umschlagplatzes erreicht. Bis zum 31. Dezember 1965 waren 5, 8 Millionen Tonenn Güter umgeschlagen worden. Hier ist die "J. G. Fichte", das Lehr- und Frachtschiff der Deutschen Seereederei, der Gemeinschaftslinie Cubalco im Heimathafen. Weit über 1000 Schiffe aus mehr als 40 Ländern haben in diesem Jahr schon an den Kais des Rostocker Hafens festgemacht und wertvolle Import-Frachten u. a. aus der Sowjetunion gelöscht oder Exportgüter für mehr als 80 Länder der Welt an Bord genommen.
