For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Frachtschiff am Kai Zentralbild Sindermann 19.2.1968 Rostock: Im Überseehafen übernimmt die MS "Schwarzburg", das jüngste Schiff der Deutschen Seereederei, Stückgüter für Indien. In wenigen Tagen wird der moderne teilautomatische Frachter seine erste mehrere Monate dauernde Reise nach Ostasien beginnen. Die Deutsche Seereederei, die sich innerhalb weniger Jahre zum größten deutschen Schiffahrtsunternehmen entwickelt hat, verfügt über einen Schiffstranportraum von rund einer Million Tonnen. Bis 1970 wird die Handesflotte auf 1, 3 Millionen tdw erweitert.
