For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild Spremberg 21.5.1968 Berlin: In luftiger Höhe wie zu Hause Diese Männer arbeiten in 216 m Höhe ebenso sicher wie auf der Erde. Erwin Günther, Horst Guth, Günter Schadow, Kunnar Wilhelm, Rüdiger Liersch, Karl Kirschner, Johannes Kautz und Brigadier Hein Schieche (v.l.n.r.) vom VEB Industriemontagen Leipzig gehören langsam schon zu "Inventar" des Fernsehturms. Sie montieren die Stahlskelett-Konstruktion der Turmkugel, die nach ihrer Fertigstellung ein Gewicht von ca. 550 Tonnen besitzen wird. Mit Außenhaut und Einrichtungen sind es sogar ca. 5000 Tonnen. Bis jetzt - gegenwärtig werden die Segmente für die vierte Bühne montiert - sind rund 350 Tonnen Stahlkonstruktion bereits emporgehievt und montiert worden. |
