For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild Sindermann-13.3.69 Rostock: Blick auf den Großtanker "Schwedt", der mit einer Tragfähigkeit von 43.000 tdw als zweitgrößtes Schiff von der Deutschen Seereederei Rostock in den Dienst gestellt wurde. Die 213,5 Meter lange und 29,4 Meter breite "Schwedt" verfügt mit 18.350 PS über die größte Antriebsleistung von Schiffen der DDR-Handelsflotte. Die Deutsche Seereederei Rostock besitzt gegenwärtig 167 Schiffe, darunter 161 Frachtschiffe mit einer Tragfähigkeit von 1,064 Millionen Tonnen." |
