For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Veranstaltungsplakat Zentralbild DFF 31.3.1969-Westdeutschland: Skandal in Mainz - Auf Einladung der westdeutschen Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft Mainz-Bretzenheim war die DDR-Frauenturnnationalmannschaft zum Schauturnen nach Mainz gekommen. Gegen den Willen des Veranstalters, der Achtung und Anerkennung in Emblem und Flagge zugesichert hatte, (unser Foto zeigt das Werbeplakat) riß das politische Kommissariat 14 die DDR-Flagge von der Wand und erzwang den Abbruch. (Siehe ADN-Meld. 639 v. 30.3.69)
