For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Dresden, Neubaugebiet Prager Straße
Zentralbild Deutsche Demokratische Republik 12.11.1969 -schw. Die Bezirksstadt Dresden aus den Trümmern des Krieges neu erstanden Fertige Wohnblocks, Hotels und Einkaufszentren und riesige Bauplätze für noch zu errichtende Häuser spiegeln den großzügigen Wiederaufbau der Elbmetropole wider. Unser Foto vemittelt einen Blick auf das Neubaugebiet Prager Strasse, das als Zentrum des internationalen Touristenverkehrs vorgesehen ist. Von riesigen Baustellen umgeben wurden das längste Wohnhaus der Stadt (links) und die Interhotels "Bastei", "Lilienstein" und "Königstein" (Mitte) bereits fertiggestellt. Links an das Wohnhaus schließt sich das Hotel "Newa", das im Rohbau fertig ist, an. Zwischen dem riesigen Wohnkomplex und den drei Interhotels liegen zwei große Ladenstraßen-Gebäude für die Versorgung der Bewohner.
