Leipzig, Sachsenplatz Zentralbild Deutsche Demokratische Republik 17.11.1969 Die Messemetropole Leipzig erhielt mit der Neugestaltung des Sachsenplatzes eine neue Sehenswürdigkeit. Der Sachsenplatz liegt unweit des historischen Marktes. Seinen Mittelpunkt bildet das eigenwillig gestaltete Gebäude der "Leipzig-Information" (Bildmitte). Hier erhalten die Besucher der gastfreundlichen Messestadt ein reichhaltiges Angebot zur kulturellen und gastonomischen Betreuung. Die Räumlichkeiten der "Leipzig-Information" bieten weiterhin bei Vortragsabenden und bei Ausstellungen repräsentative Möglichkeiten. Zur Zeit wird in den Ausstellungsräumen ein Überblick über das Bildungswesen im Bezirk Leipzig gegeben, der über einen neuen Schultyp "Leipzig", moderne Unterrichtsmittel und einen Komplex "Vorschulerziehung" informiert.
