For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Verladearbeiter, Gabelstapler Zentralbild Sindermann 5.8.70 Rostock: Umschlagrekord im Rostocker Überseehafen. Hochbetrieb herrscht am Stückgutkai des Rostocker Überseehafens. Frachter mit Ladung aus Indien, der Sowjetunion, dem Irak und anderen Ländern haben in diesen Tagen im größten DDR-Seeumschlagplatz festgemacht. Mit einem Umschlagrekord von 926.300 Tonnen Gütern ist im Juli das bisher höchste Monatsergebnis in der zehnjährigen Geschichte des Rostocker Überseehafens erzielt worden. Dieser neue Rekord, trotz der vielen Regentage, an denen die Ladeluken der Schiffe nicht geöffnet werden konnten, charakterisiert den Wettbewerbselan der Hafenarbeiter.
