For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Stückgutkai, Frachter ADN-ZB Sindermann 30.12.71 Rostock: Reger Umschlags- und Schiffsbetrieb herrscht in diesen Tagen an den kilomertlangen Kais des Rostocker Überseehafens. Die Rostocker Hafenarbeiter, die in diesem Jahr den bisher höchsten Umschlag erreichten, arbeiten in drei Schichten, um die mehr als 30 Frachtschiffe im größten Seeumschlagplatz der DDR schnell abzufertigen. Auf unserem Foto werden am Stückgutkai Frachter der Deutschen Seereederei beladen.
