For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Kothelow-Friedland, Beregnungsanlage ADN-ZB Bartocha 30.5.72 Bez. Neubrandenburg: Wasser aus neuer Talsperre. Mit 170 Beregnungsanlagen versorgen im Agrarbezirk Neubrandenburg Genossenschaftsbauern und Landarbeiter eine rund 18.000 Hektar große landwirtschaftliche Nutzfläche zusätzlich mit Wasser. Überwiegend Feldgemüse und Futterkulturen erhalten das zum Wachstum notwendige Naß. 1200 Hektar der Kooperation Kothelow-Friedland werden mit dem Wasser der 1. Talsperre im Norden der DDR versorgt. Die vom Spezialbaukombinat Wasserbau, Betrieb Eberswalde, errichtette Talsperre gibt damit für die gemeinsame Pflanzenproduktion Kothelow-Friedland das erste Wasser ab.
