Wensickendorf, Turmwächter ADN-ZB Sturm 18.6.1976-Zum Beitrag: Der Turmwächter im Bergsdorfer Forst - Schutz unserer Wälder vor dem "roten Eichkater". Einhundert hölzerne Leitersprossen führen hinauf zu der kleinen Kanzel von eineinhalb Quadratmeter Fläche in dreißig Meter Höhe, von wo aus Bernhard Lotzy nun seit 1962 vom zeitigen Frühjarhr bis in den Herbst, mit dem Feldstecher bewaffnet, an durchschnittlich 125 Tagen im Jahr den Wald beobachtet, um ihn vor drohender Brandgefahr beschützen zu helfen. Der Turmwächter weiß sehr gut, wie wichtig sein Dienst auf dem Feuerwachturm bei Wensickenforf im Bergsdorfer Forst ist - besonders in einem Jahr wie diesem, mit seinen langanhaltenden Trockenperioden. Zweimal wurde Bernhard Lotzy in den zurückliegenden Jahren als Brandschutzwächter des Staatlichen Forstwirtschaftsbetriebes Oranienburg mit der Auszeichnung als Aktivist geehrt.
