For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Anger, Angerbrunnen, Patrizierhäuser ADN-ZB Demme 15.11.77 Erfurt: In vorbildlicher Weise wurde der Erfurter Anger rekonstruiert und als Boulevard umgestaltet. Seit dem 11.11.77 ist die Hauptgeschäftsstraße der Bezirksstadt der Öffentlichkeit wieder voll zugänglich. 110 Fassaden historisch wertvoller und reichverzierter Bürgerhäuser wurden in den letzten zwei Jahren restauriert, erneuert und erhielten einen farbenfrohen Anstrich.
