For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Frachter, Winter ADN-ZB Sindermann 12.1.1979 Zum Beitrag: Mit "Ur"-Kraft Hafenbetrieb garantiert - Nächtlicher Eisaufbruch auf Rostocker Seewasserstraßen Von Hafenschleppern ständig offengehalten wird das Fahrwasser im Gebiet des Rostocker Überseehafens, zu den Werften und zum Fischkombinat. Schlepper durchpflügen das Eis, um ein Zusammenfrieren der Schollen zu verhindern. Gegenwärtig sind täglich rund 20 Schiffsbewegungen im Hafengebiet Rostocks zu bewältigen. Dazu gehört u.a. das Ein- und Ausbringen in- und ausländischer Frachter von Reede zu den Hafenbecken bzw. von dort in die offenen See.
