For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Lehmann-16.11.79-la-Bez. Halle: Jugend- Ausgezeichnete Arbeit leisten die 24 jungen Arbeiter am Jugendobjekt Karbidofen 1 der Buna-Werke. Dieser Ofen, einer von insgesamt 12, wurde als 1. Jugendobjekt des Bezirkes Halle 1949 der Jugend in eigene Verantwortung übergeben. Seitdem sind die Brigaden des Jugendobjektes "Lenin" immer Schrittmacherkollektive geblieben. Ihre hohe Verantwortung wird durch die Tatsache unterstrichen, das Karbid für 60 % der Buna-Produkte den Ausgangsstoff bildet. (vergl. dazu U1116-10N - Porträt Abstichmann Olaf Schlegel)"
