For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
"Für Bezieher des ADN-Reportagedienstes!Zum Beitrag:Ihre Steine markieren historische Abschnitte-Lausitzer Granit-Werkstoff für Gebäudefassaden und Kunstwerke. ADN-ZB-Sturm-7. 3. 80-bb-Die gramgebeugte ""Mutter Heimat""am Eingang zum Ehrenhain des Treptower Parkes in Berlin. Der gewaltige Granitblock, aus dem dieses Denkmal geschaffen wurde, war einer der ersten Aufträge, den die Lausitzer Granitwerke unweit von Demitz-Thumitz im Bezirk Dresden, nach Wiederaufnahme der Arbeit im Jahre 1945 erfüllten, erteilt von der sowjetischen Militäradministration. An dem Denkmal aus Granit ehren die Berliner alljährlich tausende Gäste der Hauptstadt die für den Frieden und die Zukunkt der Menschheit gefallenen Sowjetsoldaten.
