For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
LPG Burow, Ernte von Sonnenblumen ADN-ZB Bartocha 20.10.81 Bez. Neubrandenburg: Sonnenblumen mit Leguminosengemisch ernten hier die Genossenschaftsbauern der LPG Burow im Kreis Altentreptow. Rund ein Drittel der Sommerzwischenfrüchte haben die Werktätigen der Landwirtschaft in der DDR geborgen. Die Ernte diese Kulturen, die nach der Getreidemahd auf insgesamt 900.000 Hektar angebaut wurden, gehört neben der Kartoffel- und Zuckerrübenkampagne gegenwärtig zu den wichtigsten Herbstarbeiten in den LPG und VEG. Das Grün wird entweder für den Winter in Silos eingelagert, frisch verfüttert oder abgeweidet.
