Deutsch: Auf dem nach Osten steil abfallenden Burgberg des Ludwigsteins wächst eine Wacholderheide, die mit Ende der Schafbeweidung, immer mehr mit Wald zuwächst. Der noch vorhandene Bereich der Halbtrockenrasen wird als pflanzenkundliches Naturdenkmal geschützt. Der Ludwigstein liegt in Gemarkung von Werleshausen, einem

Ortsteil der Stadt Witzenhausen im Werra-Meißner-Kreis.

In der Liste der Naturdenkmale des Werra-Meißner-Kreises hat der Ludwigstein die Nummer ND636.109 mit dem Ausweisungsdatum 25. März 1938. Er befindet sich vollständig in dem Landschaftsschutzgebiet „Werratal zwischen Oberrieden und Wendershausen und Ludwigstein mit Hintergelände“.
