Description
Français : La grille de chœur qu’on voit sur cette planche est tirée de l’église Saint-Louis, rue Saint-Antoine. Elle est d’une grande richesse et ferme entièrement une chapelle. Ses ornemens sont en fer estampé et doré, dont l’exécution est très-soignée ; la frise qui règne au-dessus est très-remarquable par son ajustement et le bon effet qu’elle produit. Des deux grilles d’une moindre dimension, qui sont gravées à côté, celle qui ferme l’une des chapelles de Notre-Dame de Paris est d’une belle simplicité ; celle qui sépare le chœur de la nef, à l’église de Saint-Nicoias-des-Champs, s’ouvre à deux battans ; sa composition est riche et convenable. On voit au-dessus une des quatre têtes de Chérubins qui décorent des piliers en marbre placés aux angles d’un tombeau au cimetière du Père Lachaise ; ces figures posent sur des pavots.
