The filled in groves in the concrete are Rockingham light rail provisions. Evidence of the light rail, which was never constructed, can be seen in the bus way approach to the station, where provision for tracks can be seen. These would have accommodated rail inset into a concrete base. The light rail track would have ended at a platform near the western entrance of the station. On either side of the wall in the underpass, public art can be seen.
