DescriptionBushey Heath Extension superimposed on 1934 OS Map.jpg |
Route of the unbuilt extension of the London Underground's Northern line from Edgware to Bushey Heath. The extension was planned in the mid 1930s, but construction work was postponed when World War II started and was cancelled in the early 1950s. Map shows existing Edgware station, planned route of new line, locations of proposed stations at Brockley Hill, Elstree South and Bushey Heath and the location of the new train depot at Aldenham. Road improvement schemes in the areas around Bushey Heath and Elstree South stations led to their positions being altered slightly before the project was cancelled. |
