Description

A U.S. Navy Grumman C-1A Trader aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CV-64). The C-1A was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 9 (CVW-9) aboard the Constellation for a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 26 September 1978 to 17 May 1979.

Note the inscription below the cockpit: Captain Paul F. McCarthy was the commanding officer of USS Constellation at that time, not necessarily the pilot of the aircraft (although MaCarthy was a naval aviator).
