| Notes | Robin de Beaumont’s small square bookplate is on the upper pastedown. His notes are on the upper endpaper verso, together with an inscription: “/ William Stringer/ [Honourable ?] Mr. Leveson Gower/ Jan 14 1872./” Yellow paper over boards. The lower cover lists titles “by the same Author”. The upper cover is printed in colours. The centre-piece shows a man (John Crabbe?)seated beside a barrel, smoking a pipe. His left leg is crossed over his right, which leg, which ends in a stump, supported by a wooden leg. Above and below the centre, printed within cartouches, are the words: “/He’s Overhead/ by the/ Revd. P. B. Power M. A./ One Shilling/ London: Hamilton & Co./” The spine is missing. Another copy (probable) is at British Library shelf mark 4413c30. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. | |||
