Whether it’s a TOC-in-a-Box or simply commanding from the hatch, CERDEC CP&I has developed various integrated mobile command post prototypes for Soldiers to evaluate during NIE 16.1. While the Light-Mobile Command Post integrates a light vehicle with command post functions to establish a tactical command post, the Expeditionary Battalion Command Post integrates a prototype shelter structure with work tables, projectors, laptops, mission command systems to establish a current operations cell. The Combined Arms Battalion Mobile Tactical Command Post, on the other hand, is an M1068 tracked vehicle with integrated mission command and radio capabilities. We offer a special thanks to the Soldiers of the 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment and the 2nd Brigade 1st Armored Division for their invaluable feedback and recommendations! The lessons learned from NIE will help inform decision makers as the Army continues to shape its vision for expeditionary mission command beyond 2025. |
