Description
English: The Engine is one of the CB&SCR nos. 3, 9, 10, 18 4-4-0T which were supplied in the 1890s. Some had their wheelbased extended to 4-4-2T to accomodate a longer coal bunker. The associated Commentary by Finerty about Dublin is completely mixed up, it was 1912 before CB&SCR was connected to the main railway network! And this train is pointing away from Dublin! Because liners from the USA called at Queenstown (Cobh) rather than Dublin around this period and Cork havng multiple termini the photographer may have mistaken this terminus for the one to Dublin. It is just possible the negative might have been touched up slightly in the lower background behind the train and distant background as it seems a little too clean
