Description
English: Construction of a replacement double-track Scherzer rolling lift bridge in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States.

The rolling lift bridge was completed on October 15, 1901. It was built by the Scherzer Rolling Bridge Co. on behalf of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway. This bridge carried the railroad's main line over the Cuyahoga River, connecting the west bank (at the Scranton Flats) with the east bank.

Scaffolding (looming over the upright bridge) was erected to build the lift bridge. The existing swing bridge (left) remained in place, while the rolling lift bridge was built in the open position. When the lift bridge was finished, the swing bridge was removed and the lift bridge lowered.
