Description
English: Example of Mycoplasma contamination detection using DAPI staining in cold methanol-fixed cells. (A) Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line, no contamination (only nuclear signal of DAPI is visible). (B) Human cervical cancer HeLa cell line, contamination evident (note dotted signal outside nuclei). Fluorescence microscopy was carried out using BioTek Cytation 5, 20× objective. Scale bar: 50 microm. The absence/presence of Mycoplasma contamination was subsequently confirmed using a PCR-test.
