Nederlands: Negatief. Er was in Indië vanaf 1911 een Burgerlijk Geneeskundige Dienst (BGD), later omgedoopt tot Dienst voor de Volksgezondheid (DVG). Op afgelegen plaatsen was er echter niet altijd een vestiging van deze diensten. Aangezien afgelegen plaatsen ook plaatsen met veel 'heidenen' waren, dat is mensen die noch christen noch moslim waren, kon men zending en/of missie hier wel vinden. In veel gevallen werd er door zending of missie tevens onderwijs gegeven en een ziekenhuis of polikliniek gedreven. In de polikliniek op de foto, onderdeel van het zendings-hulpziekenhuis, werden ook 'beren' (kettinggangers) en andere gestraften opgevangen. (P. Boomgaard, 2001). Boeroe.
