Nederlands: Negatief. Dat we moeten oppassen met de term 'oerwoud' of 'maagdelijk bos' laat deze foto zien. We zien hier de indertijd in Indië zeer bekende archeoloog P.V. van Stein Callenfels, bijgenaamd Iwan de Verschrikkelijke. Vanwege zijn grote lichaamsgewicht moest hij door een groot aantal inheemse helpers in een draagstoel worden vervoerd. Hij was hier bezig met opgravingen van artefacten (aardewerk, dissels) waarvan men aanneemt dat ze uit het Laat-Neolithicum dateren, een fase die rond 1500 voor Christus begon in Oost-Indonesië. Hier had de natuur de cultuur dus verslagen, iets wat nu, althans in deze vorm, niet meer erg waarschijnlijk is. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
