Nederlands: De opname is gemaakt tijdens één van de twee verzamelexpedities die het Tropenmuseum in 1970-1971 ondernam ter voorbereiding op de grote tentoonstelling in 1971-1972, getiteld 'Samo. Een Afrikaans Savannevolk in ontwikkeling'. De expedities duurden elk drie maanden en werden uitgevoerd door de heren J.T. Broekhuijse en F.M. Cowan.
De vrouw staat ook enkele malen afgebeeld in de catalogus bij de hierboven genoemde tentoonstelling, één maal in de portrettengalerij aan de binnenzijde van de kaft (voor- en achterzijde) en een nagenoeg identieke opname met het bijschrift 'Vrouwen malen tussen twee stenen de graankorrels tot meel' (1971: 23). |
