Nederlands: Repronegatief. Bamboe is het meest wendbare bouwmateriaal dat men zich kan voorstellen. Javanen en andere bewoners van de Indische archipel verrichtten er wonderen mee. Zo hadden de meeste dorpshuizen op Java een geraamte van bamboe. Ook werd het gebruikt voor vlechtwerk en werden segmenten van flinke bamboestammen gebruikt om vloeistoffen te bewaren, rijst te koken en muziek mee te maken. Bovendien werden bamboestengels vaak als waterleidingen gebruikt. Zoals op de foto te zien valt kunnen er ook zeer stevige bruggen van gebouwd worden. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
