Description |
Nederlands: De vruchtbaarheidspop wordt door onvruchtbare vrouwen op de buik gedragen om zo zwanger te worden (Lefèber 1994: 24). Wente-Lukas (1977) vermeld dat de Doyayo vrouwen en meisjes een dergelijke pop als een baby in een vel op de rug dragen ter bevordering van hun vruchtbaarheid. Vaak zijn de poppen niet alleen met kralen maar ook met oude lapjes, kaurischelpen en soms ook echte haren versierd. Zo'n pop is het verplichte geschenk van een jongeman aan zijn verloofde en krijgt het geslacht dat het paar zich wenst als toekomstig kind. |
