Français : (traduction Reverso du néerlandais) : Repronégatif. Kopal est la résine d'Agathis dammara (aussi appelé Agathis alba), un grand arbre ressemblant à un pin. C'est un 'sous-produit forestier' dont Célèbes était le plus grand exportateur. Vers 1900, Célèbes exportait du kopal pour environ un million de florins par an. À la veille de la crise de 1929, c'était en moyenne quatre fois plus par an. La légende originale de la photo dit : "Récolte de copal dans un panier, transportée ensuite dans le grand panier porté sur le dos." Dans le sol autour d’un vieil arbre ou même dans un endroit où se trouvait un arbre, on trouvait parfois le kopal dur très apprécié (P. Orchard, 2001). Récolte de copal, Célèbes, Div. Luwu
Nederlands: Repronegatief. Kopal is de hars van Agathis dammara (ook wel Agathis alba genoemd), een hoge boom die op een den lijkt. Het is een 'bosbijproduct' waarvan Celebes de grootste exporteur was. Rond 1900 exporteerde Celebes voor ongeveer een miljoen gulden jaarlijks aan kopal. Aan de vooravond van de Crisis van 1929 was dat gemiddeld viermaal zo veel per jaar. Het oorspronkelijke bijschrift bij de foto luidt: "Het oogsten van copal in een mand, om naderhand in den grooten korf, die op de rug wordt gedragen, verder te worden getransporteerd."
