Nederlands: Negatief. Dit jong stel van hoge aanzien (de "sibayak" waren sociale en politieke streekshoofden) staat naast een enorme waringin boom. Voor de Batak zijn zulke bomen van enorm spiritueel belang en worden geplant naast de graven van aanzienlijken.
Pa Sendi draagt een "uwis julu" als heupbedekking en een jak om zijn bovenlijf. Op zijn hoofd draagt hij een doek met pijlspits motief, waarschijnlijk een geïmporteerde zijde doek ("plang rutha") uit Aceh. Zijn vrouw draagt een "uwis teba" om haar tronk. Het is niet duidelijk welke doeksoort zij als draagdoek voor haar kind gebruikt. Waarschijnlijk draagt zij een "sambat" als "abit" oftewel om haar lijf te wikkelen. .
