Nederlands: De tekening van de secretaris- of struisvogel staat op de gelaagde kant die geheel glad is. De tekening is door een geoefende hand gemaakt.
Uit de correspondentie van Dr. van Beukering blijkt dat hij samen met zijn zoon de "klip" (stuk rots of steen), die oorspronkelijk ca. 80 kg woog, met gewone ijzerzagen tot een gewicht van ca. 30 kg heeft gereduceerd. De steen is gevonden op "de concessies van de Associated Manganese Mines of S.A. Lrd.", enige mijlen van Postmasburg. |
