Nederlands: Repronegatief. In tegenstelling tot de suikerplantage en de suikerfabriek, waar zowel de fabrieksarbeid als de veldarbeid door mannen verricht wordt, is de theeproductie een grotendeels vrouwelijke aangelegenheid. Het plukken van de thee is geheel in handen van vrouwen en ook in de fabriek domineren zij. Na het drogen worden takjes en andere verontreinigingen uit de thee verwijderd en wordt het stof uitgezeefd. Voor de thee verpakt en verzonden wordt moet er nog gesorteerd worden. Dit werd lange tijd geheel in handarbeid gedaan, maar ook daar kwamen op den duur machines aan te pas, zoals de foto illustreert. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
