Nederlands: De foto is genomen in Foreshore, Kaapstad, tijdens het Van Riebeeck Festival (Fees) in 1952. Op het terrein in Foreshore waren diverse woningen nagebouwd en gaven de 'bewoners' demonstraties van hun handwerk.
Het festival duurde van 1 februari tot en met 6 april en vormde de eerste feestelijke herdenking van de stichting van Zuid-Afrika op 6 april 1652 met de landing van Van Riebeeck aan de Kaap. |
