Summary

edit
Description
English: Trichopoda giacomellii, introduced from South America to control green vegetable bug in pecans. The tachinid flies (family Tachinidae) are one of the largest and most important group of insect parasitic flies. All species are parasitic in the larval stage, and many are important natural enemies of major pests. Following Dios, Ziegler & Zeegers (2021), the right identification is Trichopoda (Galactomyia) pictipennis, and not T. giacomellii
