DescriptionCSIRO ScienceImage 2395 A Prickly Pear Site.jpg |
English: A prickly pear site before treatment with Cactoblastis cactorum. Commonwealth Prickly Pear Board scientists introduced the larvae from the Argentinean moth Cactoblastis cactorum in 1926 and within ten years, the once-dense fields of common prickly pear lay rotting or had vanished completely. See image number AR1344 for the treated site. |
