Description

Woodspirits are hand carved of age mountain pines. They are the limbs and heartwood of the tree. This type of carving is traditional folk art of the Austrian and Bavarian Alps. In Austria they hang on the eves of homes to ward away the evil spirits. Each woodspirit has its own unique expression and size. I carefully carve them according to the character of the wood. Only a limited amount can be made every year. C. Tom Fry - Western North Carolina Creations
