Summary edit

Description

A charming image of what I presume os mother and daughter, or possibly granddaughter. The younger lady is reading, whilst I think the old lady is knitting. The pot plant and wall-growing plant (possibly a kiwi?) suggest to me that this is probably in a conservatory. The younger lady's dress would suggest early 1880s (see comment below).

Rather lacking in contrast, I'm sure it could be enhanced digitally but I like to present images here as close to the originals as possible.

Cabinet card. Plain reverse. Bought in The Hague April 2014.
